I dumped Disqus two years ago because they were killing my performance with all the 3rd, 4th & 5th party etc scripts.

I put a lot of effort into crafting my web experiences to deliver the best user experience possible and PERFORMANCE is the #1 thing I can control as the developer. Disqus was just killing that KPI. I can’t remember the real numbers, but I believe I went from 1–2 seconds to 18–25 seconds with the disqus script.
